PA1 is a pre-requisite for this course.

You must already have the NPTC PA1 Pesticide Spraying Foundation (0216-49) qualification to be able to sit the assessment for the PA6 course.

NB: PA6AW (near or to water) is an additional unit for PA6. Please email Business@suffolk.ac.uk to request the AW unit, we will then invoice you for the additional cost of £100 for the AW training & assessment. The AW training will be covered at the end of the PA6 course and the AW unit will be covered during the PA6 Assessment.

Assessment

Competency will be assessed by the NTPC after you have completed the training course, not on the day of the course. Your assessment will be booked through the NPTC to be carried out at a convenient time and location. You will be assessed by using a combination of practical assessment and theory-based questioning. Please submit a clear, passport-style photo to NPTC@ccn.ac.uk in advance of your course for your ID card registration. Failure to do this will incur a charge if additional certificates or ID cards need to be issued. If you have any queries about the assessment or to discuss whether access arrangements would be required, please contact the NPTC on 01603 731250. Successful candidates will be awarded their certificate directly from the NPTC.

NPTC – Disabilities and Access Arrangements

Please inform us immediately, if you have not already done so, of any disabilities that may disadvantage you in successful completion of your assessment; for example if you have dyslexia or English is not your first language, or any mild disability which may require you to have some assistance. Under guidance from C&G we are able to make access arrangements for some learners to demonstrate their competence under assessment, without changing the demands of that assessment. Examples of access arrangements include: readers, scribes, extra time, or modified assessment material. However, as Certificates of Competence are vocational qualifications, candidates must achieve all the required units to gain a full qualification, and the awarding body will not make adjustments to the required competence standards. As an example, pesticide product labels detail essential information, and it is of paramount importance that a candidate is able to read and interpret this information to comply with legislative and operational requirements. If the candidate is unable to read and/or interpret a product label without assistance then they will not be deemed competent to practice, as if such a person were working without supervision in the workplace, there is the potential for serious incident to occur. If you would like to discuss this further or make access arrangements for your assessment, then please contact NPTC directly on 01603 731250.

Enrolment End Date: Please note that the enrolment for this course closes 3 working days prior to the start of the course. Unfortunately it is not possible to process late enrolments after that point.
