ApplyThis course is based at our Suffolk Rural campus in Otley.
The Level 2 Certificate in Garden Design has been designed to enable learners to develop the underpinning plant knowledge and drawing skills required to enter the garden design industry.
You will study the following units as part of this qualification;
· Garden Design Process
· Graphics and 3D studies for garden design
· Plant Knowledge
· Planning for Garden Design
· Plant and Soil Science
· Plant Selection and Care
To study this certificate, you will be required to attend college for 1 day per week, for a full academic year.

You will have the opportunity to work within the college’s glasshouses and horticulture unit. Learners studying this qualification will have a dedicated and exclusive area for their learning experience. You will study within the designated ‘Garden Design’ classroom at the lovely rural campus in Otley.
The lecturers will share their many years of horticulture experience with you and are still actively involved within the industry.
Day of attendance: Wednesday's; 9.30 - 16.00

Additional Costs
PPE (steel toe capped boots, wellies, gardening gloves, outdoor clothing).
You will be able to purchase a garden design accessories pack from the college's online shop. This package will include items such as a professional drawing compass, technical drawing pens and set squares which you will need on a weekly basis. You are welcome to purchase these items externally and your tutor can provide you with a list of what is required. Your tutor will also be able to support you on where to locate these sundries.
