    Course Overview

This course is based at our Ipswich campus.

This is a University Arts London (UAL) Art and Design course.

This exciting 2-year creative study programme is comprised of 6 UAL units, which cover a range of graphic design and illustration based activities. It will enable you to explore a broad range of processes and give you a confident understanding of visual communication.

There is a strong vocational emphasis, with good links to industry and it is delivered by practising artists and designers. You will use industry standard equipment and software to develop skills in digital illustration and graphic techniques such as typography, print and layout design. Traditional skills are just as important and we emphasise this through a core drawing programme, physical sketchbooks and printmaking.

An ideal applicant is an energetic, committed, enthusiastic, and creative individual with aspirations of a career in the creative industry.

    Course Highlights

Explore traditional and digital processes in artist-led creative briefs, that link directly to the design industry. Live projects connect our students with the local community, allowing for future professional opportunities. Continuous structured assessments allow you to track your own progress and develop your own unique design and illustration style, with ongoing regular feedback from tutors.

At SNC we are not only invested in developing your creative practice, but your professional practice too. Visiting exhibitions/events, experiencing local industry resources and working with external clients will develop your understanding of the creative industries. We will also nurture your ability to present your work professionally online, and promote you through our SNC social media channels.
