    • Entry Requirements

    Entry will be subject to a successful interview with a member of the agriculture team.

    This course is designed for those who are 19 years of age and over.

    A good level of English Language and Maths is required.

    Course Overview

    This course is based at our Suffolk Rural (Otley) campus.

    This course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to enter the farming industry after only 10 weeks of training.

    You will have the opportunity work on our college farm and work with our experienced team of agriculture lecturers and the farm manager.

    There will be three intakes per year;

    Course Highlights

    The qualification will cover the following topics:

    · Preparation, maintenance and operation of a tractor

    · Sprayer setup

    · Movement and handling of livestock animals

    · Crop systems

    · Health and Safety

    The course may include and prepare you practically for the following NPTC units:

    · Telehandler

    · PA1/PA2/PA6

    · ATV

    · Chainsaw

    · Abrasive wheels

    Next Steps

    After the course you will be able to continue onto other qualifications or work in the agriculture industry.
