    Course Overview

    This course is based at Suffolk New College - on the coast (Seaward Avenue, Leiston)

    This inspiring course has an appealing blend of Public Services modules mixed with Sport and Fitness.

    Exclusive to the SNCOTC campus, this tailor-made course is for anyone wanting to join the military, Police, Prison Service, and many more Public Service-based careers, who also enjoy getting active and fit.

    The Level 2 Introduction to Public Services, Sport & Fitness prepares students for progression onto any of our Level 3 pathways in Public Services, and can also lead to the Level 3 programmes in Sport.

    The course included practically based modules such as Fitness Testing and Training, and Developing Personal Fitness, as well as the opportunity to undertake Adventurous Outdoor Activities. Classroom content will include topics such as Careers for the Public Services, First Aid, and Working in the Public Services. Alongside these modules, students will also partake in volunteering activities within the local community or project-based opportunities.

    The study programme is assessed using a variety of methods, which reflect the industry, such as presentations, observations, reports and workbooks.

    You will be in College for at least three days a week. Students are also required to take part in relevant work experience in a relevant setting.

    All students who have not achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English or maths will need to study these subjects alongside their chosen qualification.

    Next Steps

    Students who complete this course may progress into the football or wider coaching industry, gaining employment or apprenticeships with local and regional providers, football clubs, and Sports governing bodies. Student can also progress to University, studying subjects to include Football Development, Sports Coaching, and PE Teaching.
