    Course Overview

    This study programme gives you specialist knowledge and understanding of welding and fabrication techniques used within the engineering sector at this level. Carrying out practical activities in a realistic workshop environment, you will develop a range of complex welding and material joining techniques. Classroom-based theoretical units are delivered by highly qualified and experienced lecturers, who will support you in learning to work safely, effectively and to make efficient use of resources and materials. You will need to pass all practical and theory elements of the programme, in order to achieve this nationally-recognised qualification.

    Course Highlights

    The study programme is a balance of theory and practical based learning

    You will learn in our modern welding and fabrication workshop. You will further develop and enhance your practical skills learnt at level 2 and progress to complex welding work.

    Interacting with local employers, who will share their knowledge and experience with you.

    The study programme will also develop your personal, social and employability skills, which includes opportunities to work on community projects and to explore the various career pathways within the engineering industry.

    Next Steps

    On completion of the course, successful students will have a qualification allowing them to progress directly onto an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering, including Fabrication & Welding.

    Tuition Costs

    No tuition fees are payable for students aged 16 – 18 on 31 August 2022.

    For all students aged 19+ fees will be £1580.

    National Skills Fund:

    This course is part of the National Skills Fund Offer - if you are 19 or above and do not have a level 3 qualification or higher your course will be funded for you.
