Skills Bootcamp in Healthcare

  • 12 Weeks | Part Time
  • Suffolk New College (Ipswich)
  • Level 3

Course overview

Fast Track to Careers in Healthcare aims to provide an introduction to the Healthcare sector and support employment into the NHS.

The academic course component provides the learner(s) with a professional certificate in Health Care, co-designed and awarded by Suffolk New College and the East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).

Learner induction will take place over 2 days, at SNC, 10:00-15:00, on a Monday & Tuesday, including completing the necessary checks and administrative tasks required to access an ESNEFT and/or supporting organisation placement. The induction will also include basic training as well as course and placement expectations. Learners will be introduced to Google Classroom, and trained on how to access online materials, to submit assessments, and how to access feedback.

The 5 hours per week of remote learning will use the college’s Google Classroom provision, where learning resources, activities and assessments will be located. A weekly PD/tutor session will address any challenges which arise and support progress.

The ‘placement’ element of the course requires learners to attend a minimum of 15 hours per week in placement with ESNEFT and/or a supporting organisation. Placements will be arranged for the learners between SNC and ESNEFT staff, and shared with learners during their induction. Following a successful 10-week placement and completion of the academic elements of the course, learners will receive an interview for a post at ESNEFT and/or other supporting organisations.
