A T Level is a composite technical study programme.
A unique opportunity for young people aged 16+ to work with the college and an employer in the scientific industry allows them to gain relevant scientific knowledge, skills, and qualifications alongside employability skills and relevant work experience.
At its core, it provides a breadth and depth of scientific knowledge and skills relevant to the health and science route as a whole, as well as occupational specialist knowledge in the laboratory science pathway.
The study programme comprises college and employer-based study. Students benefit from the 315-hour industry placement, which is intended to provide students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and behaviours required for skilled employment in their chosen occupation.
Not only does it provide vital industry work experience but the opportunity to progress to higher-level studies at university.
The course comprises of 2 externally assessed, written examinations, employer-set projects and assignments in the specialist area.
It suits young people keen to get out into the workplace while continuing to gain higher level qualifications, where they can see science happening in the real world and apply what they learn to the industry in which they are working.
