- The 3 Certificate is aimed at progressing the development of persons within the horticulture industry. Also those who have a specialist interest in the supervision and the development of gardens and landscapes.
The course is a theory based course which requires attendance one day per week.
The assessment is via two external examinations set in February and June .
The course will require further home study and a work placement with a horticultural setting is advised.
Subjects Studied on the course:
- The development of plant knowledge and plant identification skills.
- Plant specification and sourcing for landscaping and nursery.
- The role of plants in a designed landscape
- Managing plant propagation
- Garden Styles and developing planted areas
- Horticultural Heritage
This Course can be undertaken in conjunction with the RHS L3 Certificate in Practical Horticulture.( A total of two course days a week).
If the option to also complete the RHS Level 3 Award in Horticultural Investigation , the L3 Certificate in Practical Horticulture and the L3 theory are achieved the overarching RHS Level 3 Diploma in Gardens and Designed Landscapes is achieved.
