Learn to knit or crochet from scratch or improve your skills.
You are welcome to join this class as a complete beginner or if you have some knowledge, come and expand your horizons, learn more advanced techniques or gain pattern reading skills.
Our experienced tutor, Hannah learned to knit and crochet 30 years ago. As a self-confessed prolific knitter and crocheter, who designs her own patterns and loves to spin her own yarn, Hannah has taught many people to knit and crochet and is passionate about keeping these skills alive to pass down to future generations. Although, we don’t technically need these skills anymore as we are able to buy clothing relatively cheaply it is essential for us to create. We are creative beings and both knitting and crochet are good for keeping the brain active as well as good for our mental health.
You are welcome to bring in a pattern you want to learn to follow, or you can work together with Hannah to find the perfect project for you. Hannah is interested to know what the dream is! What do you want to create? Do you want to knit socks for your family, a coat for your dog or a jumper for yourself? Anything is possible!
Materials required for the course will be discussed in the first session but if you are a complete beginner, Hannah can provide a small goodie bag with needles or hook and yarn to take home for a small fee of £5, which you can then take home and craft in front of the T.V. to your heart’s content.
