In this course, we will look at the building blocks of the Japanese language from basic phrases and more. You will learn how to greet people, order food, book hotels and get directions at the same time while improving your conversation skills and developing your reading and writing abilities.
In short, this course will cover the learning needs of all students, regardless of their current level.
However, at least in the beginning, we will use a textbook, “Japanese for Busy People, I” (get the revised third edition – the green book). This is available in two versions – “romanized” or “kana”. Only get the kana version if you already know the kana.
If you have any questions about this or anything to do with the course, please email the course tutor, Alan Gross (alangross@suffolk.ac.uk). Also, if you would like to discuss your current level of ability and future learning aims, please drop me an email.
What you will need: A notebook, pen and a copy of the textbook as listed above.
