Course overview

This qualification will suit students aged 16+ and pursuing a career in working within the Health and Social Care industry. It would suit learners who are looking to develop skills and knowledge for working within general Health Care and Social Care roles in the community; such as Nurses, Midwives Occupational therapists, Social workers and Probation workers.

The course consists of 10 units:

  • A1 – Being organised
  • A2 – Developing a personal progression plan
  • A3 – Working with others
  • A4 – Researching a topic
  • HSC5 – Finding out about Health and Social Care Services
  • HSC6 – Communication Skills for Health and Social Care
  • HSC7 – Making Healthy snacks when caring for people
  • HSC8 – Advising others about Healthy Lifestyles
  • HSC10 – Supporting others to use adapted equipment safely
  • HSC12 – Visiting a Health or Social Care Setting
