This course aims to help learners and Health & Social Care professionals to develop their skills and knowledge around Stroke awareness. This single-unit qualification is designed to consider the causes of stroke and ways in which patients and their families can be supported during the recovery period.
This is a 1-day course, 09:30-15:30, face-to-face with an online assessment to be completed remotely.
Completion of this course comes with an accredited qualification and certificate recognised in industry.

- Conditions that may be mistaken for stroke
- Differences between stroke and TIA
- Know how to recognise stroke.
- Key stages of stroke
- Assessment tests for strokes
- Understand the management of risk factors for stroke
- How risk factors may vary in different settings
- Reducing the risk of stroke
- Understand the importance of emergency response and treatment for stroke
- Understand the management of stroke
Assessment will include components of practicals in our state-of-the-art Health Science campus, as well as an online suite of assessments to which you will have access.
