This course is for absolute beginners and is designed to teach you the basics of the French language, learn basic phrases and help you during your holiday. This will include how to greet people, order food, book hotels and get directions, improve your conversation skills and develop your reading and writing.
The course will then lead onto Term 2 and Term 3 should you choose to continue.
What you will need: A Notepad, Pen and French Dictionary. It is recommended by the tutor to bring an Access French 1 (Bernard Grosz & Henriette Harnisch) Routledge textbook and an A4 folder ring-binder file or folder for worksheets.
Enrolment End Date: Please note that the enrolment for this course closes 3 working days before the start of the course. Unfortunately, it is not possible to process late enrolments after that point. Refreshments are available from the vending machines on the campus which include both hot and cold drinks.

NB: Term 1 is an absolute beginner’s course which is not open to returning learners. Term 2 will be a continuation of Term 1 with the same cohort of learners. Term 3 will then be a continuation of Term 2. New learners will be able to join in Term 2 or Term 3 but you must not be a complete beginner.
Ideally, you will need to have completed 20 hours of learning or the equivalent of 20 hours of learning.
The tutor will contact you to assess your current knowledge and ability to see if you are eligible to join the group.
