This course aims to help learners and Health & Social Care professionals to develop their skills and knowledge around Diabetes. This unit introduces the learner to the signs, symptoms and factors that may cause diabetes. It also considers the impact of diabetes on different illnesses such as depression, dementia and pregnancy.
This is a 1-day course, 09:30-15:30, face-to-face with an online assessment to be completed remotely.
Completion of this course comes with an accredited qualification and certificate recognised in industry.

- Know what is meant by diabetes
- Key features of different types of diabetes
- Know the risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes
- Know the treatment and management options for individuals with diabetes
- Know how to respond to hypoglycaemia
- Know the links between diabetes and other conditions
Assessment will include components of practicals in our state-of-the-art Health Science campus, as well as an online suite of assessments to which you will have access.
