With a regionally-leading reputation for helping students gain employment, the Level 3 Childcare course is designed with theory and application of skills in placement in mind. Students attend work experience two days a week in a placement organised by the college, and attend college 3 days for classes.
Students complete modules including: supporting emergent maths and literacy, international perspectives, preparing for school readiness, as well as building a professional practice portfolio. Methods of assessment include: two externally-assessed pieces of work, one linked to Year 1 modules and the second to Year 2 modules, other methods include; direct observations of practice, reflection on own practice, and written assignments. In addition to your main qualification, our course includes a number of other highly sought-after qualifications to add to your CV, such as Pediatric First Aid and the Level 3 SENCO.
