Course overview

This course aims to help learners and Health & Social Care professionals to develop their skills and knowledge of Basic First Aid principles. This unit provides a basic introduction to first aid in the workplace. It reinforces the importance of workers knowing how to respond if they are first on the scene and what actions they should take within their own limitations.

This is a 1-day course, 09:30-15:30, face-to-face with an online assessment to be completed remotely. 

Completion of this course comes with an accredited qualification and certificate recognised in industry.

  • Understand the legal requirements for provision of first aid in the workplace
  • Understand basic first aid procedures
  • Record keeping requirements and the importance of record keeping

Assessment will include components of practicals in our state-of-the-art Health Science campus, as well as an online suite of assessments to which you will have access.
