UAL Level 3 Creative Practice; Art, Design and Communication. 6 Units
The Fashion and Textiles course is an exciting two-year pathway that allows individuals to explore fashion design or textile design or both.
Projects are designed with a strong vocational emphasis on building skills to develop an understanding of contemporary knowledge and practice required for employment or higher education settings.
Students are supported to experiment and develop their practice through conceptual design thinking and core practical skills.
We encourage you to explore, fusing traditional 2D and 3D processes with digital techniques where appropriate.
There is an opportunity to take part in live industry briefs and exhibitions. There is also a potential residential overseas trip (2nd year) and planned visits to national galleries to develop your research skills further through independent and group learning.
With textiles – you can access a designated studio & print room to explore traditional processes and digital techniques. Students can investigate and experiment with a broad range of materials and techniques to design, make and validate their ideas. These can include, sublimation printing, screen printing, constructed textiles, natural dyes, shibori, heat transfer, and weaving/looms.
Fashion includes design & communication of ideas, concept development, pattern drafting, design and garment construction.
