Course Overview

Are you a qualified level 2 Beauty Therapist and wish to develop your skills to open up some great opportunities for employment, both here and abroad? This programme is designed to enable you to build upon your current skills and provides you with knowledge and training in body massage, face and body treatments using electrotherapy, provide spa treatments, anatomy and physiology and optional units in epilation, tanning, Indian head massage and individual eyelash extensions. You will also learn how to enhance your treatments using a selection of high tech specialist equipment within our fantastic salon facilities in ‘The Zone’ and will provide clients with treatment packages linked to our state of the art spa. Throughout your training programme, you will be required to carry out treatments on peers and paying clients, demonstrating your ability to meet the national requirements in a number of practical and theory based units. To gain this qualification, students will successfully achieve one externally set synoptic examination and one externally set synoptic practical examination, and optional unit assessment.

Using work related learning opportunities you can further develop your skills leading to many exciting career opportunities with employment options in health spas, cruise liners, leisure facilities or as self-employed therapists.

All students who have not achieved a grade C or 4, or above in GCSE English or maths or both will need to study an English or/and maths qualification alongside their chosen main qualification.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification at a Merit grade or above including a pass in English Language & maths at the level studied, interview and suitable reference.

Course Highlights

Learn to carry out complex beauty treatments to high standards, working on clients and using premium products and brands. Trips may be available, with the possibility of going to Centre Parcs, where you can experience a luxury spa session and talks about future career prospects with professionals. You also have the opportunity to show off your skills at events, such as the Suffolk Show. You will undertake meaningful activity with employers during your study.

Next Steps

You can progress into a range of beauty roles within the industry such as a beautician. Further opportunities could occur as a private educator and assessor, training academy employee, manager or salon owner.

Tuition Costs

No tuition fees are payable for students aged 16 – 18 on 31 August 2017.
