    Course Overview

    This course is based at our Ipswich campus.

    This study programme is for you if you have a true love and passion for baking. You will work alongside our experienced chefs who will show you how to develop skills to perfect a range of Patisserie and Confectionery items, both classical and contemporary. You will be working in our fantastic kitchens and bakery, producing advanced items such as Tortes, Gateau St-Honore, Croissants, traditional French pastries, and many other items, showcasing your skills, and creating items to add to our product range served in the Chef's Whites Deli.

    If you are willing, passionate, and a team player, this is the course for you. Employment opportunities include working in restaurants, bakeries, cafes and bistros as a specialist pastry chef. This study programme includes evening sessions every week.

    Next Steps

    This course will give you the skills to move on to employment in the Patisserie industry at a supervisory level. You may also decide to continue your studies at an advanced Foundation level at University.

    Tuition Costs

    No tuition fees are payable for students aged 16 – 18 on 31 August 2022.

    National Skills Fund:

    This course is part of the National Skills Fund Offer - if you are 19 or above and do not have a level 3 qualification or higher your course will be funded for you.

    Additional Costs

    £185 for uniform/kit and £100 for trips/materials.


    Sam is studying level 3 Patisserie course and is enjoying the challenge, the different items his is making from level 2 and the running of the pastry section with the colleges realistic working environments. Sam has completed work experience at Ipswich town and Willis. Once Sam completes the course, he wants to look for full time work in industry.
