This is a knowledge-only unit which assists with the development of policies and procedures that support registration and reflects current registration requirements of the relevant home country. It will enable the learner to develop basic business skills that they will need to acquire to set up and maintain a successful home based childcare service. Assessment is through written knowledge based tasks.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but students must be at least 19 years of age. It is an Ofsted requirement for people wanting to set up a child-minding business to complete this qualification prior to registering with Ofsted. Students must have internet access and English at level 2 F/skills or equivalent. Students will be set a written task prior to enrolment.Students must be committed to undertaking between 5 – 10 hours of independent study weekly to complete the assessment requirements of this course.
Start and then continue with your employment as a childminder.
In time you may wish to complete the full Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce qualification or consider progression to higher education.
