    Course Overview

    This course is based at Suffolk New College - on the coast (Seaward Avenue, Leiston)


    This broad general creative arts course will challenge you to explore, experience, and develop your Art, Design & Media potential, through exciting and creative activities that will include:

    • Graphics & Illustration
    • Drawing
    • Digital Photography
    • Printmaking
    • Digital Graphics

    These activities will allow you to develop your own sense of creativity and direction you wish to specialise in.

    You will also have a personal tutor who teaches on the course and will support you throughout your time at Suffolk New College on the coast.

    All students who have not achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English or maths will need to study these subjects alongside their chosen qualification.

    Course Highlights

    This programme of study has fantastic progression rates onto the Extended Diploma, which will then allow you to progress to higher education or work.

    You also have the chance to experience different Art, Design & Media projects in a variety of disciplines within the sector using industry-standard software, so you can choose which area you wish to specialise in for your final major project. All students will enjoy trips to galleries and art events, both locally and in London. This course will be taught at Suffolk New College - on the coast in Leiston.

    Next Steps

    The course has been designed to help you progress onto the relevant Level 3 courses such as UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design or Games Design (Creative Media Production).

    You must gain a Merit on this qualification to progress on to the Extended Diploma in Art and Design (equivalent to 3 A Levels).

    Tuition Costs

    No tuition fees are payable for students aged 16 – 18 on 31 August 2020.

    There is a £50 trips and materials payment to cover specialist workshop materials and the national trips programme.
