Lead Exam Invigilators

£21,030 per annum pro rata

£12.32 per hour (includes an enhancement for annual leave)

 Our exams run throughout the week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 9:00pm, whilst we will require coverage of our exams from this role, we do have multiple opportunities available and therefore we can offer flexibility in regards to hours and days that suit you, please indicate when submitting an application the hours and days you would be interested in working. Ideally we would like candidates to work a minimum of 20 hours but this can be spread across five days or worked in fuller days/half days. The role is also term-time only for 40 weeks per year.

 We have a brand new opportunity for Lead Invigilators to support exam sessions between the hours of 8.00am to 9:00pm. Duties will include the supervision of on-line tests, the invigilation for external examinations and reading and writing for individual students.

As a permanent member of the Student Data and Funding & Performance team, you will take a lead on invigilating exams in line with rules and procedures and also support with the preparation of exam papers and the associated stationery and paperwork needed to ensure exams run smoothly.

You will be a key player during busy events within the team such as GCSE exams, taster events and enrolment in supporting with the wider activities of the team whilst maintaining an excellent standard of invigilation at all times. You will work alongside the wider Funding & Performance team as well as supporting the ‘pool’ of Invigilators who cover exams on an as and when basis.

We have opportunities available where you will be based at both Suffolk New College in Ipswich or Suffolk Rural Campus in Otley. As Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site, we also have campuses in Halesworth and Leiston and therefore you may be required to invigilate exams at these locations. Please clearly state on your application form which locations you would like to be considered for as a main base of employment.

 A good standard of education, including a minimum of Maths and English at Level 2 (grade C/4 and above or equivalent) is essential along with general administrative and computing expertise, including familiarity with the internet.
