Horticulture Apprentice – Level 2
Fixed-term for up to 18 months, linked with training
National Minimum Wage for Apprentices
Are you ready to make the move from education to employment? We are looking for an enthusiastic Individual to join our horticultural team based at Suffolk Rural. Experience is not essential as long as you have a keen passion for the industry and are willing to learn.
Reporting to the Horticulture Centre Manager, your duties will include the use of tools and machinery, general garden maintenance, propagation and seed sowing and the opportunity to be involved with the commercial unit (Farm Shop) as well as occasional landscape and design projects.
A requirement of this role is for you to work weekend shifts, as determined by the line manager. The role may require you to work unsupervised at times and therefore we are looking for someone with a good initiative and a can do attitude.
Joining an apprenticeship programme is one of the best ways to start your career by providing opportunities to develop invaluable workplace skills. Upon completion of your role as a Horticulture Apprentice, you will have been trained in the skills employers want, gain certificates in certain tools and equipment, and enhance the choices available to you in your future career.
