Community Skills Projects Coordinator

Vacancy overview

Community Skills Project Coordinator

Within the range £30,627 to £32,487 per annum

37 hours per week for 52 weeks per year but requests for part-time hours or flexible working arrangements will be considered

This dynamic and varied new role will coordinate a programme of community initiatives at the Suffolk New College On the Coast Campuses, especially in Leiston, as part of the College’s commitment to providing a varied and inclusive skills programme for the communities we serve.   Horticulture and green skills are likely to be a key theme of the emerging projects, so aptitude or enthusiasm in these areas would be an advantage.

Suffolk New College is a growing Further Education College, with a large modern Campus near the Waterfront in Ipswich, a rural and agricultural campus, Suffolk Rural, just north of Ipswich at Otley, and smaller On-the-Coast provision at Leiston and Halesworth. This role is integral to the delivery of Suffolk New College’s ambitious programme of capital developments, curriculum enrichment projects and employer collaborations.

The wellbeing of the staff and student community is at the heart of the warm and welcoming College community, with a range of staff benefits and opportunities for training and personal development embedded in our recruitment offer.

Currently delivering several exciting externally funded major projects across the College, we are looking for someone with a passion for project management and delivery, an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, as well as an engaging and articulate communication style.

Working within the Directorate of Business Development and Major Projects, you will also liaise closely with the Directorate of Transition, Foundation and Inclusive Learning, which runs the curriculum provision at the On the Coast sites.

This post is based at the Campus On-the-Coast Campus (predominantly in Leiston), however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site and you may be required to work at and travel between campuses.
