Sports & Societies

Suffolk New College, through the Students’ Union, offers a range of Sports and Societies. We offer casual activities like Pilates, Yoga and Table-Tennis as well as the opportunity to compete in various sports against other colleges. There is also the opportunity for Student's, with the help of the Sports & Societies Co-ordinator, to start up their own clubs to promote and develop their own particular interest.

The College is a member of British Colleges Sports (BCS) and through these links we play competitive and friendly fixtures against other colleges within the region. BCS is a national organisation offering student’s opportunities to play in many competitive games with the possibility in playing in the prestigious National Finals at Loughborough University where over 2500 students compete for the national title. Trials are also held for a place in the National Squad for Men’s and Women’s Football, Netball and Rugby. BCS also has a men’s football team for students with disabilities

We are always looking for students to participate in the following: Badminton, Basketball, Cross-Country, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Rugby 10’s, 5-a-side Football, Squash, Swimming, Table-Tennis, Tennis, Trampolining and Volleyball. Speak to a member of staff in the SU office if interested.
