Support Services

SUPPORT SERVICES

At Suffolk New College we believe that in general ‘small’ is better than ‘large’. Therefore although you may be joining a large College, your ‘home’ will be in a small department – we call ours ‘curriculum centres’. Here you will be cared for by friendly, supportive and experienced staff who will get to know you well.

We also have a specialist Learning Skills & Advisory Team . They are here to make sure that you get help according to your needs and the most out of your time at College . Our specialist support includes: careers advice , Connexions , counselling , financial information including sources of student funding, spiritual support and a health service .

In addition the Nursery on-site provides a comprehensive service for children 0-5 and their families.

If you are a full time student you will have your own personal tutor who you will meet individually and regularly throughout the year. At the beginning of the year she/he will agree with you course related achievement targets which will be challenging but achievable and then work closely with you and all your teachers to ensure you meet and hopefully exceed them!
