Working Towards Employment
The LINK offers students the opportunity to learn and fulfil their potential in a fun and exciting way by offering creative learning packages that develop personal and social skills, and encourages motivation through learning.
The LINK has a proven track record of creative learning with the students well being and choice driving the Centre forward. Students are encouraged to progress in areas of individual interest, expand on existing skills and building on qualifications already gained.
The LINK ensures that choice is offered with a variety of high quality learning experiences. We celebrate achievement and milestones at a pace that is suitable for the student.
The LINK has a multi-agency approach making smooth transitional links into learning or employment. We offer individual learning choice and clear pathways, involving Connexions and other agencies. Taster and transition programmes are organised with local schools and The LINK.
We offer courses at Entry level 1, Entry level 2 and Entry level 3 and level 1. We also cater for young adult students (19-25 years) at pre-entry level for whom outcomes are measured in terms of greater levels of independence, community engagement, improvements in the early stages of communication and, in some cases, supported employment. The group tutorial programme and enrichment activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award and sporting activities give added value to our courses. As required, students can receive additional learning support and a personal care service is also available.
