BTEC National Diploma in Sport (Development, Coaching and Fitness) - MSN43F1

BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN SPORT (DEVELOPMENT, COACHING AND FITNESS) - MSN43F1

Course Code: MSN43F1

Is this the right course for me?

This is an 18 unit programme equivalent to 3 full ‘A’ levels. The course aims to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to work within the field of sport, recreation and leisure.

The BTEC National Diploma in Sport has been developed to meet the expanding employment opportunities within the industry including: health and fitness facilities, coaching/teaching, professional sport and performance, sport and leisure facility management, working with children in sport/activity situations and work with special population groups e.g. exercise rehabilitation.

Sport and Leisure is one of the UK’s fastest growing industries. In Ipswich and Suffolk we have seen a variety of recent developments within the industry which have increased the quality and quantity of provision, these have included: the opening of new health and fitness clubs, the development of the Ipswich Town FC training and playing facilities, the opening of a purpose built gymnastic centre, the continued development of first class hockey in the town and the continued prominence of local council sport and leisure departments in Ipswich, Suffolk Coastal and Mid Suffolk. All of these trends are positive for students on a course such as this in terms of offering study opportunities, work placements and future potential employment.

It is becoming increasingly possible for enthusiastic, reliable, well qualified young people to make a career in sport. A course such as this is a very positive step along that path.
