Working in the media industry requires you to be multi-skilled and be able to adapt to any situation. The Level 3 108 Credit Diploma in Media offers you a broad practical approach to many aspects of media production, including:
There are regular trips to local and regional cinemas, Norwich, Harry Potter Experience, supported by visits from guest speakers and Media Professionals. If successful you will have the opportunity to top up the 90 Credit Diploma to an Extended Diploma in the second year, which is equivalent to 3 A Levels.
4 GCSEs grade C or above including English Language or level 2 in Media, plus Functional Skills level 2 and a PGS interview.
You must gain a pass on this qualification to progress on to the Extended Diploma in Media (equivalent to 3 A Levels).
You will use our industry standard equipment, from our TV studio to photography dark room to develop your skills in Media both academically and practically. You will be taught by media professionals and learn the skills to work in the media industry.
You will meet guest speakers who will tell you about their experiences of working in the media. You will also go on trips throughout the year, such as visiting the BBC’s New Broadcasting House. You will also be able to put your skills to use outside the College, by taking part in work experience and live projects.
Students who complete this course may progress on to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Media or on to Higher Education (with significant UCAS points).
No tuition fees are payable for students aged 16 – 18 on 31 August 2016

There is a £70 Trips and Materials payment to be made, to cover specialist workshop materials and experiences. There are regular trips to Local and regional cinemas, Norwich, Harry Potter Experience, supported by visits from guest speakers and Media Professionals.
The media studio and the facilities were excellent, the tutors were amazing, they have backgrounds in media and knew first-hand what it was like in the business. You get the hands on experience needed to help you progress; we created our own films and it prepared us to go out and get a job, or go on to higher education.
