We're here for you

Moving from school to college can be something of a culture shock. But at Suffolk New College we've created a supportive, social environment where you can easily get access to the help and advice you need, make new friends and get the most out of your time with us. Your personal tutor is there to support you throughout the year and help you set challenging but achievable goals and benchmarks. Our Student Support team are always on hand for help with issues such as student funding, financial assistance, spiritual and health matters. And you'll also have access to a wealth of careers guidance in our resource centre.

If you have dyslexia, a disability or any other individual needs, our support team can provide a range of services, including making special arrangements for exams.

Additional Needs Team

The Additional Needs Team are able to recommend support and provide advice to those who experience Learning Differences or a Disability. Some of the services available are listed below:

  • Assessment for exam concessions
  • Accessability support and personal care facilities
  • Communication support for Hearing Impaired
  • Academic support through the Study Skills Team
  • Visual Stress Screening
  • Learning Support Assistants
  • Specialist Autism and ADHD service
  • Assistive Technology (hardware, software and other resources)
  • Library resources
  • Support with applications for DSA
  • Entry level Courses
  • Support with a Medical Condition
  • Transition support for new applicants
