Suffolk College Catering Student Gains Award - 13 July 2004
Jonathan Gulliver was recently awarded the The Ipswich & Suffolk branch of The International Wine & Food Society Decanter in recognition of his excellent culinary skills. Jonathan has recently completed his NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking and has also achieved his NVQ Level 2 Food and Drink Service. He also achieved five additional NVQ level 2 units.
Since coming to Suffolk College two years ago, Jonathan has remained very focused on his career path and puts in a lot of extra time and effort to achieve his lifelong ambition which is to be a "Top Chef". Jonathan also works part time in the industry and has been involved in many extra events that the catering department have been involved in such as The Mayors Charity Ball, Suffolk College Graduation Ceremonies and The Suffolk Show, to name a few. One of Jonathan’s key strengths is his ability to work within a team and to support his fellow students, this was demonstrated in the role he played with The Royal Navy Competition when Jonathan supported the winning team.
Jonathan will be returning to Suffolk College in September to do his NVQ Level 3, and I am sure he will do very well in his chosen career and will be an asset to any employer.
