6-a-side Football Tournament

On Friday 13 March 2009 Suffolk New College and ITFC Community Trust held a 6-a-side football tournament on the practice pitches at ITFC. The entry fees raised £1300 towards the Princes Trust Million Makers Challenge that the college participated in, challenging us to turn £3,000 into £20,000 through fund raising.

Teams taking part in the tournament included Pretty’s Solicitors, Morgan Ashurst, Babergh District Council, Whitespace/Hudson Signs/Free Rein along with college sides from the Students’ Union and the college PACE Football team.

All the teams played each other, 9 minutes each way, with the top two teams Morgan Ashurst and the college PACE Football team playing in a final. After 18 punishing minutes Morgan Ashurst were triumphant winning 2 - 1. The winning team were presented with a trophy, medals and the use of an executive box at an ITFC game.
