SUFFOLK NEW COLLEGE PRESENTS A LIVE MUSIC EVENT: THE KABEEDIESWEDNESDAY 18 MARCH 2008
18.30 THE FOREFRONT SUFFOLK NEW COLLEGE
The event is part of the second year national diploma in media course; it is designed to give the students first hand experience of the TV industry. We have hired professional equipment and the production is run 'as live' in a real working environment. There are music students and friends of the media students providing the bands and we invite all in the audience to participate! The event is staged, scheduled, designed, filmed and produced by the students and, if last year is anything to go by, it will be a fantastic and energetic evening.
David Ward, Head of Creative Arts and Media said:
"This exciting event provides the Media National Diploma students with a 'real' live TV production experience using industry standard cameras, mixers and monitors for the evening, with each student assigned their own professional role. It also gives the students a chance to design and create the set, to schedule every detail, arrange the bands, gain first hand experience of the enormous amount of behind the scenes planning that goes into such a production and to develop their TV production technical skills. The students gain a great deal of benefit from working alongside students from other courses including the Music National Diploma students, who contribute to several of the bands. We are fortunate to have such a highly qualified and experienced teaching team to be able to stage such a project, and in addition to being a spectacular event, the project really helps prepare the students for their future careers in the Media industry and to gain their places in some of the top universities around the country."
