Festival of Festivals 2007 - 22 February 20075.00pm on 13 March 2007
Lecture Theatre 4, Suffolk College, Ipswich
- All welcome -
The ‘Festival of Festivals’ is an annual event held at Suffolk College to celebrate the diversity of faiths and traditions within the college community.
This festival is an opportunity for people of all faiths, or none, to learn about each other’s beliefs, traditions and festivals through words, music, movement and art. This year’s festival will include Hindu dancing, Sikh drumming, Christian music and poetry, and aspects of Buddhism. Suffolk College Performing Arts students will be taking part, and the buffet afterwards will be supplied by Further Education Catering and Hospitality students.
The theme ‘Then and Now’ is about our journey of life – what makes us who we are, what helps us in our lives now, and how we face the future.
David McLeod , Chaplaincy Coordinator, said, “Suffolk College aims to achieve ‘Excellence through Diversity’ by encouraging self-expression, enabling personal achievement and promoting community cohesion. The ‘Festival of Festivals’ is just one of the many ways Suffolk College encourages respect, learning and self-enrichment.”
