ANCESTRAL SPIRITS – AN EXHIBITION BY CAROL SORHAINDO AT SUFFOLK COLLEGE - 30 OCTOBER 2006

Suffolk College, working with the Nia Project to celebrate African History Month, recently hosted Ancestral Spirits, an exhibition of work by Carol Sorhaindowhich was staged between 10 – 19 October.

Carol works in a range of traditional materials combined with recycled and natural objects to explore African and Caribbean culture and natural imagery. Texture, colour and the themes of ‘Mother Nature’ form the main focus of her work. The main inspiration is drawn from her childhood experiences of life in Dominica in the Caribbean.

A Reception to mark the opening of the exhibition - attended by Mayor Councillor Henry Davies and other local dignitaries - was recently held in the Forefront Gallery, Suffolk College.
