Plumbing Short Courses

In addition to our existing four-year City & Guilds training programme in Plumbing, the ACES department is now accredited by BPEC (the British Plumbing Employers Council) to deliver professional short courses in the subject.

Our specialist plumbing short courses are delivered in our fully equipped plumbing workshop (on the college's main Rope Walk campus) by a member of the teaching team with specific training in the subjects listed below.

BPEC Water Regulations

This one-day course (following completion of a self-directed study pack at home) teaches and tests a thorough understanding of the Water Supply (Water Fitting) Regulations of 1999 (England & Wales).

Successful completion of the course is required before seeking employment as a contractor for a water company.

BPEC Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems

This one-day course (following completion of a self-directed study pack at home) is open to anyone who has several years of experience in the plumbing industry or who holds (or is working towards) an NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing.

Successful completion of the course meets the requirements of Building Regulation G3 for the installation of unvented hot water storage systems of greater than 15 litres capacity.
