| The Construction teaching department forms part of the Automotive, Construction & Engineering Services (ACES) section of Suffolk New College and is one of the largest providers of construction education and training in the East of England region. It offers a wide and diverse range of academic and vocational courses which cater for the needs of the local population and the regional Construction industry, allied professions and authorities. The department works closely with local employers to develop a programme of education and training to suit the Construction industry. |
The department provides a ladder of opportunity for all, irrespective of previous experience or qualifications. Qualificatory courses are available in a variety of modes of delivery including full-time, part-time and apprenticeships. The range of courses offered covers two academic areas: craft and technician training. This spread of activity and diversity of range is not common among other colleges in this area. The provision is available to students from fourteen years of age through to mature adults, with opportunities open to learners with a variety of entry qualifications. Outcomes extend from basic craft awards through to technician and professional qualifications. |
