The Automotive & General Engineering teaching department forms part of the Automotive, Construction & Engineering Services (ACES) section of Suffolk New College and offers courses at all levels for students who can be full-time, part-time or work-based.
Courses are in three main areas:-
1) Electrical / Electronic Engineering
2) Electrical Installation
3) Automotive Engineering (Motor Vehicle / Motorcycles)
Well-qualified, friendly tutors will help you plan your course and then lead you through it with skill and enthusiasm to help you maximise your potential and get good results. For example, you can begin on a Pre-Apprenticeship Programme doing the IMI Award in Motor Vehicle, then follow it with a Modern Apprenticeship. This would enable you to gain valuable work experience at the same time. Similar progression routes are available in Electrical Installation. Practical work is a prominent feature of all courses - this is carried out in a pleasant workshop environment using engineering-specific computers, tools and equipment.
For information about courses offered in this department please visit our online prospectus (and select Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Motor Vehicle under the Full-Time or Part-Time sections).
