Project Team
A significant amount of work has been put in to get the College’s New Building Project. The College has worked with a number of key advisors who have provided professional advice and expertise.
The architects who have designed the building are Sheppard Robson. The Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors are from Arcadis AYH who have been involved in a number of other similar developments and the Contractors are Morgan Ashurst, previously known as AMEC. The College has also received specialist advice from Faber Maunsall in respect of mechanical & electrical services. Projects such as these are complicated and require diverse skills and a lot of dedication.
The Project has been strategically managed by the Project Board which includes representatives from the key professional firms, as well as Suffolk New College Governors and LSC representation. Key officers who attend include Dave Muller Principal, Marilyn Watsham Deputy Principal, Tony Keable Associate Principal & Director of Finance, Mary Gleave Associate Principal & Director of HR, External Relations & Estates and John Norman Director of Campus Development.
Reporting to the board, a project group meets fortnightly to focus on key issues and driving the project forward and also more specialist meetings take place regularly involving Assistant Principals, Heads and other key staff on the detail of the building.
