Young People Showcase Their Talents - 30 March 2007

Approximately 150 year 9 pupils from over 10 high schools in Suffolk attended the Programme of Academic and Vocational Education (PAVE) Showcase at Suffolk College on Friday 23rd March 2007.

The annual Showcase (see pictures below) is the product of the current PAVE students’ hard work. It is an opportunity for the next wave of students to see first hand the benefits of an alternative curriculum, which combines two days at Suffolk College, within their selected vocational area, and three days at their school. This very successful initiative between Suffolk College and its partner schools will ultimately enhance the opportunities available to these young people once they complete their compulsory education at 16.

Suffolk College is very proud of its students’ achievements and that we are providing the next generation of skilled labour.

The current PAVE programme offers a variety of nationally recognised qualifications related to the course undertaken by the young person.

The vocational opportunities available in 2007 to Key stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) students at Suffolk New College will be:

Brickwork

Catering

Carpentry and Joinery

Childcare

Engineering

Hairdressing

Motor Vehicle
