The Nursery @ Suffolk College Celebrates National Sure Start Month - 7 June 2004
Parents and families are invited to attend an open day at The Nursery @ Suffolk College, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP4 1LT.
Dates and times:
• Tuesday 15 June, 10.00am - 11.00am
• Thursday 17 June, 1.30pm - 2.30pm
• Monday 21 June, 3.30pm - 4.30pm and
• Wednesday 23 June, 10.30am - 11.30am
Here we will be able to give you an opportunity to meet the nursery team, look around this brand new nursery and find out more about what funding is available, courses at Suffolk College, local job opportunities and find out about National Sure Start Month and what it can offer you. And the children can join in with, face painting, making puppets, creative activities and lots more.
Throughout June National Sure Start Month features open days and events that invite parents to find out about the many services available to them - from childcare and early education to health and family support. This open day is part of this nationwide campaign and will be attended by Job Centre Plus advisors, Caroline Patterson, Suffolk College Careers Advisor, and The Nursery Managers will also be available for individual queries.

Sure Start is a new Government unit designed specifically to make life better for children, parents and communities by bringing together early education, childcare, health and family support. National Sure Start Month is being organised by Kid’s Clubs Network, Daycare Trust, National Childminding Association, National Day Nurseries Association and Pre-school Learning Alliance.

Sure Start aims to provide a sure start for every child by delivering a joined-up approach to childcare, early years education, health and family support. It supports all families – from pregnant mothers to those with children up to 14. Sure Start is bringing together universal, free part-time early education for three and four year olds. It also provides more and better childcare, with greater assistance where there is a greater need.
