Former Suffolk College Students Celebrate - 2 December 2003

More than 1,000 Suffolk College Further Education students achieved their qualifications last summer, and on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 December many of them will return to the central Ipswich Rope Walk campus to be formally presented with their certificates.

Twenty-seven first and second year Creative Arts & Media students will kick off the proceedings with a dance routine inspired by the film ‘Moulin Rouge’ and performed to the song ‘Lady Marmalade’ from the CD of the soundtrack.

Each evening a VIP guest will also be there to add their applause and congratulations to that of family and friends. On the first evening Councillor Penny Brakewell, Mayor of Ipswich, will join in the celebrations, and on the second SGR presenter Tim Cole will be present.

Each Curriculum Centre will present special awards to the Best overall Performer and the Most Improved Student. In addition, local businesses will show their support for the College by sponsoring further prizes.

After the event, former students and their guests will have the opportunity to catch up with friends and tutors whilst enjoying light refreshment, prepared and served by the Further Education Catering students.
