All The World’s A Stage – 28 October 2004
Announcing a new partnership between the Suffolk Institute of Technology and the New Wolsey Theatre to support the development of vital skills in Suffolk’s businesses
The Suffolk Institute of Technology (SIT) is delighted to announce that it is currently working with the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich in the design and delivery of two new, high quality and unique training events. These are in Networking Skills and Presentation Skills for Business.
The ability to network, to communicate with a wide range of people in a variety of contexts is a crucial skill in today’s world. But it is a skill that is rarely taught yet many of us would like to acquire - most people would admit to being very uncomfortable when approaching a room full of strangers and many are unsure how best to promote themselves and their businesses without appearing pushy or crass.
Similar is true when it comes to delivering presentations. How do you control your nerves, use your voice to best effect and stop littering your speech with ums and ahs?
Who better than performance professionals at the New Wolsey Theatre, with their comprehensive experience of delivering bespoke training to businesses in the UK, to work with members of Suffolk firms to help them enhance these skills?
Clare Avery, Associate Dean at the SIT says “Working with people in business is what the SIT is all about. We are committed to providing the training and education that genuinely enables our clients to do what they do, and aspire to do, most effectively. And by working with the professionals at New Wolsey Theatre we can provide very powerful training that is authentic, highly relevant and very effective”.
These will be run as complete and fun one-day training events according to the following schedule:
30 November 2004 Networking Skills £165 incl. lunch
27 January 2005 Presentation Skills for Business £175 incl. lunch
