Adult Award Ceremony At Suffolk College - 10 February 2004

Students with learning disabilities, staff and guests celebrated their success at the Adult Award Ceremony, which took place in the main hall of Suffolk College on Wednesday 4 February. In total 160 people attended the event. The College Principal Professor Dave Müller, presented the certificates to this very special group of people who attended courses throughout the last academic year.

Many of those receiving certificates had attended the numerous ASDAN courses run in the community in partnership with Community Education and Social Services. These were set up for people with learning disabilities to offer them the opportunity to access a wide range of subjects such as gardening, cookery, performing arts and computers.

Students who studied courses at the College were offered opportunities to improve basic, social and life skills achieving OCN, EDEXCEL and City & Guilds qualifications.

If you are interested in attending a courses or know anyone you think would benefit from such courses please contact Penny Gavin, the Course Coordinator, on Ipswich 296380.
