The Race Is On... 13 July 2006
Six members of the Suffolk College Human Resources team will be taking part in Cancer Research UK's 5km Race for Life for on 19 July 2006, at 7.30pm at the Suffolk Showground.
Suffolk College is pleased to support the charity, and our colleagues participating in the race.
Those taking part are:
Georgie Pemberton Payroll and Management Information Manager
Donna Phillips Human Resources Officer
Angela Smith Human Resources Assistant
Julia Steele Training and Development Manager
Teresa Steward Senior HR Officer
Coral Wilby Human Resources Officer
Teresa Steward, Senior HR Officer, said:
"Having lost a few of my family members over the last couple of years through cancer and knowing that Cancer affects so many people's lives, I and the rest of the team wanted to help fund Cancer Research UK to continue their good work of supporting people with cancer and their families, but also, I hope that the money raised might, one day, help find a quick and painless cure for this dreadful disease. We have already reached our team fundraising target of £700 and continue to receive great support, I would therefore like to thank everyone who has sponsored us so far."
Staff from other areas of the College took part in the previous event held on Sunday 18 June, and others will be joining the Human Resources team on Wednesday.
