Suffolk New College Launches Business Development Unit - 2 February 2007
Suffolk businesses have a new partner for success with the launch this week of the Suffolk New College Business Development Unit (Suffolk BDU).
More than a hundred representatives from local enterprises were present at the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce formal networking lunch to hear about this exciting new development.
The Suffolk BDU has been created to provide employers with direct support that could save them time and money through accurate identification of training needs, delivery of high quality flexible programmes and accessing sources of funding and grants.
Welcoming this initiative, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive John Dugmore referred to the Leitch Report published at the end of last year which identified the extent of skills shortages in the UK’s workforce and its adverse impact on profitability.
In launching the Suffolk BDU, Suffolk College Principal Dave Müller said, “We are delighted to be able to offer this new service which will build on our existing close relationship with industry and commerce. We look forward to working in partnership with businesses to support and strengthen the development of a flourishing local economy.”
