Longest Serving Member of Staff at Suffolk College Retires - 19 December 2006

Suffolk College bid happy retirement to its longest serving member of staff at a recent reception on the College campus. Diane White joined Ipswich Civic College in December 1967, and during her 39 years of service undertook a range of administrative roles including Assistant to the Committee Clerk and, most recently, staffing the main College reception and switchboard.

In making the College's presentation to Mrs White Dr Peter Funnell, Assistant Principal (Learning development), said:

" Diane White has lived and breathed the development of Suffolk College, from the steady expansion in the 1970's and 1980's to the rapid expansion of higher education and A level provision in the 1990's, to the current exciting creation of Suffolk New College and University Campus Suffolk. There have been many highlights in Di's career but what stands out is her commitment to the College, its students, staff and visitors and her professionalism which has served us all so well."

Diane said, "I've been part of many changes during my time at the College, and am very sorry that I will not have the opportunity to work in the new buildings for Suffolk New College or the University Campus Suffolk. I will however maintain an interest in these exciting developments."

Diane will be enjoying her retirement with her husband Peter which will start with a family holiday
