Great fun and a massive learning resource – or an open door to danger? - 4 April 2007
Anyone concerned with protecting children from the risks of surfing the internet will welcome the opportunity to learn about the simple steps that make it more secure.
Suffolk College’s Centre of Vocational Excellence (i-CoVE) is offering a series of free roadshows around the county designed to help ensure that show young people surf safely.
The roadshows will be held in Ipswich, Lowestoft and Haverhill.
In partnership with experts in the field of eSafety, including Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Police, Ipswich Town Football Club, Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP), E2BN and 7Safe, i-CoVE will present a short 2 hour programme on how to minimise the threat.
Parents, teachers, school governors, youth works and others are welcome to come along and learn how to stay one step ahead.
The Series starts in April and places are limited so please book early. Bookings can be made via email to safersurfing@suffolk.ac.uk, or call Tracy Mayhew on 01473 343626.
