Suffolk New College raise funds for Mayors charities

Suffolk New College staff celebrated the end of the summer term at their annual Celebratory Summer Ball at TrinityPark on Friday 11 July 2008.

The money raised from ticket sales was donated to the Mayors Charities which this year included The Fire-fighters Charity, East Anglian Air Ambulance and Ipswich Children’s Hospice.

The Summer Ball was well attended by staff and friends of the College who danced the night away to music provided by ‘Blueport Jazz Duo’ and ‘Gold’ and a fantastic £1122.00 was raised at the event.

The cheque was presented to the Mayor, Councillor David Hale by College Principal, Professor Dave Muller. The Mayor said “I am very grateful to everyone at Suffolk New College for their hard work and generosity. This gift of more than a thousand pounds is a very welcome boost to my charity fund. I am also glad that the summer ball was a great success.”
